Trevor Sturworld (Class of 2013)
Trevor Sturwold graduated from Immanuel Christian High School in 2013, attending ICS from K-12. After graduation, he attended the Lethbridge College where he graduated from the Licensed Practical Nurse program. In 2015 he moved to Claresholm Alberta and started working at the Claresholm Center for Mental Health and Addictions. 2016 he started working at the Willow Creek Continuing Center and finally in 2018 he found his home in nursing and started working at the Claresholm General Hospital, where he currently works.
Even though Trevor found his niche at the Claresholm General Hospital he wanted to do more in the medical field. In 2019 he completed Advanced Foot Care Training through Devon Foot Care, learning how to assess and treat ailments of the foot and how to properly care for high-risk clients, ex. diabetics. Once completing this course he started his own foot care business, “Sturwold Foot Care.”
Starting his business in November of 2019 challenges arose of how to build cliental and really get the business started. “I didn’t really know anything about how to get a business off the ground. I started with getting my name in the Claresholm Local Press newspaper, creating a Facebook page and handing out business cards to local businesses.” Slowly but surely his business continued to grow. “One thing that I have learned in the business part of things is that word of mouth is the best way to grow a business, especially in a small town.”
“A lot of my clients ask me, what made me get into foot care? I tell them that I used to think feet were gross but what really changed my mind was I saw a huge opportunity to address the need of foot care in my community and for my passion to help people feel their best.”
In 2024 his business consists of over 60 clients and that number continues to grow week by week. “Life has been very busy with balancing work at the hospital and my rapidly growing foot care business, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. To make a long story short, I wanted to make a real difference in my community – one step at a time!”
